JJ Valaya Showcased His New Collection 'Bursa' for the Digital Edition of FDCI's India Couture Week 2020 #DecodingCouture

The grandeur and splendour of Indian weddings are undeniable, from the ensembles to the decor, every aspect seems like a fairytale. While the pandemic may have torn to shreds the concept of a big fat Indian wedding, Valaya's recently show brings back all the emotions and visual aesthetics.

An illustrious couturier known for his extravagant and royal ensembles, JJ Valaya's showcased his newest collection Bursa virtually for the digital edition of FDCI's India Couture Week last night.

"In our legacy of many endearing firsts over nearly 3 decades, we once again look forward to being a part of yet another first in India, the FDCI Virtual India Couture Week," says JJ Valaya.

Every element of the virtual presentation highlighted the spirit of extravagant Indian weddings. With a palatial runway donned with illuminated chandeliers and splendid artwork, the creations were opulent Indian haute couture with intricate detailing. Staying true to his love for bridal couture, the lehengas in hues of red, were royal, regal, and majestic.

Bursa, The Ottoman Saga, takes inspiration from the magnificence of the Ottoman empire bringing to life the mystical culture and art of Persia. Metallics, gold accents, silk threads, traditional zardozi set the tone for Valaya's couture collection. Spotted on the runway were lehengas, belted saris in his signature shifted leaf chevron print, IKA jacket, puffy shoulders, jackets, and sherwanis. Traditional bridal hues of red, orange, maroon, beige, and gold defined the colour palette for the collection. Lush silks and velvets were decorated with Swarovski crystals, silk threads, beads, pearls, and age-old Zardozi embroidery.

Archana Aggarwal's Timeless Jewels complemented the ensembles to perfection, bringing out the true beauty of every piece. The collection highlights the designers' constant ode to the royal nomad, with nostalgic yet royal resonance.
