Highlighting the technique he goes on to say, "This innovative approach involves the meticulous charring of wood to achieve a sleek, dark finish." For Priyanka Singh, Founder of Chalk Studio, maximalism is channelled with the boldness of text and textures, "In these minimalist times, a room's texture paint walls are sufficient to draw attention to it and give it a fashionable feel. Furthermore, bold text or phrases in a variety of font styles—whether in a home or commercial setting—have evolved into a source of representation for the area and its occupants and may be effortlessly applied over textured walls."Elements with bold features are favoured to denote self-expression, allowing homeowners to curate spaces that will tell their unique stories. Kareena Kapoor, Brand Ambassador, myTrident also believes in making her home a personalised space and says, “It's not about having it and spending it and showing it off, the idea is to love something and keep it for years, other than sheets and towels that need to be changed every year or two.”

The design world is poised to embrace a vibrant colour spectrum, with a strong emphasis on sustainability, where shades of browns and greys lead the revival in luxurious furnishings."
Silent Luxury
Towards the end of 2023, we saw more people leaning towards the trend of silent luxury wherein there is no overt display of wealth. Embracing the serenity of muted earthy tones, this trend will exist in stark contrast to the boldness of Maximalism. This silent luxury evokes a sense of tranquillity, utilising neutral palettes and clean lines to create spaces that breathe. Subdued elegance becomes the focal point, where each element serves a purpose, contributing to an uncluttered aesthetic that speaks volumes through simplicity. Poddar believes the importance of Quiet Luxuries remains crucial, emphasizing the timeless appeal of high-quality fabrics. She goes on to say, "Homeowners are now prioritizing personalization, creating spaces that reflect their unique identities rather than following fleeting trends." "The essence of ecocentric designs will be taking centre stage in 2024, as sustainability becomes an integral part of home decor," say experts at myTrident. "Embracing a boho chic vibe, elements like weaved baskets, rugs and other decor items crafted from natural materials will be much sought after."
