Adopting a healthy lifestyle is quintessential to boost your immunity. Not only does eating right work as a great immunity booster, but keeping yourself hydrated, exercising and a good sleep pattern, play a crucial role as well. It may sound overwhelming to start everything at once so starting step by step is a wise idea.
Skipping breakfast is extremely unhealthy. The first step towards healthy living is having a wholesome breakfast. Start your day right as the morning hours are when your metabolism rate is the highest, so ensure to eat breakfast like a king. To help you kick start a healthy lifestyle, here's a list of some easy, healthy and filling breakfast options. And... to make it easier, we've also added a cheat meal recipe!
1. Banana & Oats Pancakes
Ingredients:-
3 tsp ground oats
1 large ripe banana
1 and 1/2 tsp milk
1/2 tsp cinnamon powder
A few drops of vanilla essence
Method:
Mash the bananas until smooth. Add the milk, grounds oats and cinnamon powder. Mix well to ensure the consistency is thick (don't add too much milk to make the mixture runny). Finally, add the vanilla essence and give it a quick mix. In a pan add butter and let it melt. Pour half the batter into the pan and spread evenly, let the batter brown and then flip over. Serve hot and pour on some honey or a dash of heated maple syrup.
* This batter is enough for just 1 person - 2 small pancakes.
2. Cucumber & Hung curd Spread
Ingredients:
1 bowl hung curd (keep the curd in a sieve overnight for the water to drain out)
1 cucumber finely chopped
1/2 tsp mustard
salt & pepper to taste
Method:
Add the cucumber (and onion if you like) to the hung curd. Then add the mustard and pepper. Lastly, add the salt and mix well. Use as a spread on your toast. Serve the dip chilled. Sprinkle on some chia seeds for a healthy touch.
3. Banana, Mango & Nuts Shake
Ingredients:
1 ripe banana
1/2 mango
1 tsp mixed seeds (chia, flax and pumpkin seeds)
1 glass almond/soy/skim milk
few drops of vanilla essence
Method:
Add all the ingredients to a blender and blend well. Serve chilled.
4. Guacamole
Ingredients:
1 big avocado
1 onion finely chopped
1 tomato finely chopped
1/2 - 1 lemon juice as per your taste buds
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
Method:
In a bowl, scoop out the avocado and mash. Squeeze in the fresh lemon juice. Add the onion, tomatoes, salt and pepper. Mix well. Use as a spread on your toast or as a dip with tortilla chips. Serve chilled!
5. Devil Eggs
Ingredients:
2 eggs
1/2 finely chopped onion
1/2 finely chopped green capsicum (you can also add red and yellow capsicum)
1 tsp mayonnaise
1/2 tsp mustard
salt & pepper to taste

Method:
Full boil 2 eggs for 8-10 minutes, let them cool and peel off the shell. Cut them into two halves and scoop out the egg yolk. In a pan add some oil, saute the capsicum. Then add the onions and saute both till the onions are translucent. In a bowl mix the egg yolk (boiled egg yoke), onion & capsicum mixture, mayo, mustard, salt and pepper. Fill in the egg white with the mixture and add some bacon bits on top. Enjoy the healthy no-carb meal.
If you've been healthy all week, its time to indulge in a cheat meal. Treat yourself to a delicious french toast!
Cheat Meal - French Toast
Ingredients:
2 eggs
1/8th cup milk
1/2 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp melted butter
1/4 tsp cinnamon powder
few drops of vanilla essence
1/2 sliced bananas or fresh berries (optional)
maple syrup
Method:
Beat the eggs, butter and sugar in a bowl. Slowly add the milk - ensure all the ingredients are at room temperature. Throw in the cinnamon powder and vanilla essence. Take 2 slices of bread in a plate, add the mixture to the bread and let it soak in for about 2 minutes. In a pan heat some butter, add the soaked slice of bread and let it brown on either side. Once it's a nice golden brown, put it on a plate, garnish with sliced bananas or fresh berries. Pour on some heated maple syrup and enjoy!
