Rawla Bisalpur
📍 Jawai, Rajasthan
Bisalpur Village, Jawai, Rajasthan – set amidst the Jawai Leopard Hills.
Tucked away in the quiet village of Bisalpur in Jawai, Rajasthan, Rawla Bisalpur is the kind of place that feels deeply connected to the land. Originally built in the 1930s as an Indo-European guest house for the royal family, the property was thoughtfully restored in 2019 by brothers Veer Vinod Singh and Paramvir Singh of the Bisalpur family. Today, it has been transformed into an intimate boutique heritage stay set against Jawai’s dramatic granite hills and wild landscapes, right beside the family’s ancestral palace that carries over 300 years of history.
With just four rooms, the experience here feels quiet, personal, and far removed from the pace of everyday life. The restored villa blends colonial influences with earthy interiors, local materials, minimalism and natural landscape, making it feel warm rather than excessive.
What truly defines Rawla Bisalpur is the way it opens up Jawai through the eyes of the family themselves. Leopards have shared this landscape with the Bisalpur family for generations, and the evening safaris are led by the brothers, who grew up tracking them across the granite outcrops of Jawai. Unlike conventional wildlife experiences, these safaris feel deeply rooted in personal stories, local knowledge, and a genuine understanding of the land.
The days unfold slowly here. Sundowners by Jawai Lake, farm picnics under open skies, quiet village walks, birdwatching trails, and immersive cultural experiences replace structured itineraries. The atmosphere encourages a slower rhythm, where nature, heritage, and community become part of everyday life.
Food is equally central to the experience. Seasonal farm-to-table meals are curated by the family using homegrown produce, fresh dairy, and traditional regional recipes. Dining takes place within restored heritage spaces and reflects a simple yet thoughtful approach centred around authenticity and local flavours. The kitchens are overseen by Kunwarani Bhagyawanti Sodha, Veer and Paramveer's Mother, adding a deeply personal touch to every meal served at the property.
At its heart, Rawla Bisalpur is not simply a heritage stay or a wildlife retreat. It is an intimate family-hosted experience that is incredibly rare.
