Marari Beach

📍 Alleppey, Kerala

Spread across 30 acres along the shores of Mararikulam, Marari Beach feels like a quiet seaside village hidden between coconut trees and the Arabian Sea. Part of the CGH Earth collection, the resort is surrounded by lily ponds, fruit trees, tropical gardens, and an organic farm, creating a stay that feels deeply connected to Kerala’s coastal life and slower rhythm.

Inspired by Kerala’s traditional fishing villages, the architecture stays simple, natural, and true to the region. The 62 cottages are built with coconut palm-thatched roofs, earthy textures, and local materials that blend gently into the landscape. Open spaces, shaded pathways, and lush greenery allow nature to remain at the centre of the experience. Every cottage opens towards the gardens with direct access to Marari Beach, while select villas feature private pools and open-to-sky bathrooms that bring in sunlight, fresh air, and the sounds of the outdoors.

There is a calm, easy pace to life here. Mornings often begin with yoga by the sea, followed by walks through butterfly gardens or quiet moments around the property’s ponds and coconut groves. Nature-led experiences form an important part of the stay, from birdwatching and fish feeding to the Owls Parliament sessions with naturalists. Traditional Kerala crafts and local culture are woven into everyday experiences through coconut leaf weaving, cooking sessions, and the Art of Coir Making led by women from the local community. At the Farm Kitchen, fresh produce picked straight from the garden becomes part of hands-on cooking experiences focused on Kerala’s regional flavours and spices.

Food at Marari Beach reflects the land and sea around it. Much of the produce comes from the resort’s organic farm, while seafood arrives fresh from the coast each day. Chakra, the main restaurant, serves Kerala specialities alongside comfort dishes, while The Beach Grill focuses on fresh seafood by the shore. Beach Shack offers flatbreads, cocktails, and easy beachside meals, while the Fisherman’s Feast at the Beach Café brings together traditional coastal recipes prepared by local women from the village.

Beyond the resort, backwater cruises, houseboat journeys, village trails, and Alleppey’s coir-making heritage offer a deeper look into Kerala’s culture. But the real charm of Marari Beach lies in its simplicity, where days unfold slowly between the sea breeze, rustling palms, and the quiet rhythm of coastal life.
