HōmAnAn: A Curated Space For Homegrown Interior Brands

Set inside a lived-in duplex builder flat in Delhi's upmarket GK 2, HōmAnAn is your home before your home. The brainchild of Anubha Aneja, an interior stylist with over 25 years of experience, HōmAnAn is a living, breathing design destination that reimagines how interiors are experienced. HōmAnAn is not just a curated space—it’s an emotional one. Every piece, texture, and vignette is carefully chosen to evoke a feeling, offer a pause, and celebrate the beauty of everyday living.

"HōmAnAn is like your home before your home. Here, we’ve brought together over forty homegrown brands, not in a typical showroom, but in a styled, lived-in environment. Every piece is thoughtfully arranged to give you a real sense of how it could fit into your own space." - Anubha Aneja, founder, HōmAnAn

Unlike a typical showroom, this is a first-of-its-kind experiential space themed “The Five Senses”—bringing together touch, taste, smell, sight, and sound to create an immersive home décor experience. A woman-led initiative born from the spirit of Atmanirbhar Bharat, HōmAnAn represents a revolution in lifestyle, bringing together the country’s most inspiring design voices under one roof. "We feature over forty brands at the moment, and the number is steadily growing," said Abubha Aneja, founder of HōmAnAn. "Many of these labels are from Delhi and are entering this market without an existing physical retail presence. There is also a strong presence of brands from Jaipur and Rajasthan, alongside names from Vadodara, Pune, Bengaluru, and other parts of South India."

It feels warm, it looks international (with the use of ONLY Indian brands), featuring iconic names like Sarita Handa, who has created custom furniture, Oorja, The Home Couture, Jagdish Sutar, and emerging studios like Studio Karamica and Blacklines Gallery. Overall, entering this space, where everything is shoppable, feels less like a store and more like a home. Anubha refers to it as "Your Home Before Your Home."

The space is organised into five rooms. As you enter, you are greeted by beautiful lighting from Oorja that covers the ceiling, creating a soft ambience. On the left-hand side, there is a temple, designed in an unconventional style using ceramics from Studio Karamica and slates. This design offers a traditional yet modern twist, moving away from the norm of marble tops.

Moving ahead, you'll find the drawing and dining room featuring customised furniture from Sarita Handa — a large off-white L-shaped sofa with signature Sarita Handa cushions, a wooden centre table, and a pottery art painting in shades of rust. Large bay windows allow natural light to flood the space. Across from the sofa sits a wooden dining table with chairs, illuminated by two sculptural chandeliers by Oorja, adding an earthy touch. Behind the table is a wooden-panelled wall featuring an art piece in sync with the aesthetic, and a wall hanging plant holder with bamboo shoots neatly concealed in test tubes. The walls are adorned with diverse art forms, from pottery and wood-carved statues to threadwork.

The next room serves as a guest room, cleverly designed to double as a TV room or office space. It features a large TV, a bed-cum-sofa, a table with a mirror that functions as both a desk and a dresser, and a bathroom with muted tones and Rattan Cane Mesh, instead of large glass panels. On the wall, ceramic art is placed asymmetrically, adding a dash of colour.

Along the corridor, the powder bathroom catches attention with its industrial vibe. Shades of grey play across the walls, mirrors, and a ceramic sink with fittings, creating a textured, edgy look. Adjacent, an artistic ceramic installation appears cohesive from afar, but up close reveals multiple handcrafted tiles seamlessly merged to form a single artwork. Next is the teenage room—a sharp contrast to the previous spaces. Kitschy, colourful, functional, and slightly cluttered, it’s perfectly tailored for teenagers.

The master bedroom opens onto a large balcony and is designed by Jagdish Sutar. Unique bedside tables blend curves with linearity, brass with deep wood tones, while a lounge bed rests by the window. Wallpaper by UDC Homes adds a 3D effect, enhancing the sense of space. My personal favourite is the vintage French-style room, featuring toile de Jouy throughout. From Art Nouveau décor on the bed to wallpaper, cushions, artwork, and a vintage-style desk, this room exudes a distinctly European aesthetic.

Upstairs, the Keus Lounge focuses on smart homes and lighting solutions, offering a complete aesthetic shift. Prints are loud and colourful, wallpapers are printed, and wooden panelling complements textured carpets on floors and walls. The dining nook is bathed in natural light, creating a cosy yet dynamic environment.
