Haveli Dharampura
📍 Old Delhi, Delhi
Hidden within the narrow lanes of Chandni Chowk, Haveli Dharampura feels like stepping into another era. Built over 200 years ago and lovingly restored over six years, the haveli is today one of the finest surviving examples of Mughal-era architecture in the capital. Recognised with the UNESCO Asia-Pacific Award for Cultural Heritage Conservation in 2017, the property beautifully preserves the old-world charm, craftsmanship, and cultural richness of Old Delhi while reimagining it as an intimate 13-room heritage boutique hotel.
Set in the heart of Dharampura near Jama Masjid, the haveli is surrounded by bustling bazaars, spice markets, temples, and centuries-old streets that define the character of Old Delhi. Red sandstone colonnades, carved wooden details, intricate arches, marble courtyards, and traditional jharokhas transport guests into the grandeur of a bygone Mughal world, while the restored interiors quietly balance heritage with comfort. Each of the 13 rooms and suites is individually designed, creating a stay that feels deeply personal and rooted in history rather than overly formal or polished.
The experience at Haveli Dharampura goes far beyond the rooms themselves. Evenings here come alive through immersive cultural experiences that celebrate Delhi’s artistic and culinary heritage. Guests can enjoy live Kathak performances paired with curated dinners, soulful Ghazal nights, classical music evenings, kite flying sessions with high tea overlooking the rooftops of Old Delhi, and guided heritage and food walks through Chandni Chowk’s historic lanes. Sunset views from the rooftop terrace, with the domes and minarets of Jama Masjid in the backdrop, remain one of the property’s most memorable experiences.
Dining centres around the celebrated Lakhori Restaurant, known for its Mughlai cuisine and dishes inspired by Old Delhi’s legendary street food culture. Meals unfold slowly across candlelit courtyards, rooftop settings, and heritage dining spaces, adding to the immersive atmosphere of the haveli. The recently introduced Golden Haveli further extends the property’s vision through intimate heritage-inspired living spaces designed around art, culture, and storytelling.
